Police are searching for a man who was seen peeping at a woman using the restroom through a window at a Rego Park elementary school last week, cops said.
According to authorities, the pervert was seen filming or snapping photos of the 43-year-old victim with his cell phone through one of the bathroom windows at P.S. 174 William Sidney Mount School, located at 65-10 Dieterle Crescent, at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15.
“The safety and security of students and staff is our top priority,” said Miranda Barbot, deputy press secretary for the NYC Department of Education. “The NYPD responded to and is investigating an incident that took place at [P.S. 174] last week. The school community has been notified and we’re working with the school to address it.”
No arrests have been made, and an investigation is underway. The New York Post first reported the story on Sept. 20.
This isn’t the first time P.S. 174 has made headlines for indecent behavior on campus. In 2015, a former teacher at the school — Wilbert Cortez — was sentenced to 10 years probation after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree sex abuse and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child for having sexual conduct with minors in his classroom over the course of four years.
