Cops have released a photo of the person they believe is responsible for landing a deadly punch that killed a man on a Ridgewood street earlier this month.
Carlos Santiago, 36, of Brooklyn is wanted for the death of 56-year-old Hugo Moreta, officers from the 104th Precinct announced.
According to police, Moreta was involved in a dispute with Santiago and another unidentified individual at 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 3, along Decatur Street between Cypress and Wyckoff avenues, when Santiago punched Moreta in the face, knocking him to the ground and causing his head to hit the pavement.
When law enforcement agents and EMS units arrived at the scene, Moreta was found unconscious and bleeding from the mouth. He was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where he died of his injuries on Sept. 7, sparking a homicide investigation.
Santiago has been described as a white or Hispanic male, standing 6 feet 1 inches tall, weighing 270 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
The 104th Precinct released a wanted poster with Santiago’s photo on their Twitter account.
