The police are looking for two men who broke into three apartments in Kew Gardens and took off with more than $30,000 in cash, jewelry and other valuables.
The first break in took place at around 11:30 am Saturday, Sept. 30, when the suspects used an unknown object to break into an apartment within the vicinity of Kew Gardens Road and 82nd Avenue, according to police. Once inside the apartment the men took $2,000 in cash and $7,205 worth of jewelry, luxury clothing items and electronic devices, police said.
That following Monday, on Oct. 2, the men used an unknown object to gain access to an apartment near 136th Street and Kew Gardens Road, police said. They then stole $25,000 in jewelry and about $1,400 in electronics.
That night, at about 11pm., the men used an object to break into an apartment via a rear window by Brevoort Street and Metropolitan Avenue. Once inside they took $300 in cash and various forms of identification, according to police.
The first suspect is described by police as being of medium complexion, approximately 25-30 years of age, last seen wearing a gray shirt, black and baseball cap.
The second man is described by police as being of medium complexion, last seen wearing a red baseball cap, dark colored jeans and gray sweatshirt.
