Forest Hills frozen yogurt store Vanilla Sky closed last week.
The store, located at 70-35 Austin Street, had been in business since 2013 offering frozen yogurt, shakes, coffee and pastries in its bright, corner space.
The owner said that the rent was currently $10,000 and that the landlord was wanted to hike it significantly when the lease was up in two years. He said the negotiations had reached impasse.
The landlord could not be reached for comment.
The closure follows the owner shutting down Vanilla Sky’s other operation in Astoria. The Astoria location opened in 2012 and was impetus for a Forest Hills.
