Residents cheered those who served the nation Sunday’s Queens Veterans Day Parade along Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village.
Overcast skies couldn’t dampen the patriotism felt by participants and spectators alike in the annual march, which drew a litany of veterans posts, community and youth organizations, marching bands, elected officials and others walking west on Metropolitan Avenue to Christ the King Regional High School.
Following the parade, the school hosted a ceremony honoring local veterans and parade supporters.
