Detectives need the public’s help in finding a man who robbed and sexually assaulted a woman in Briarwood earlier this week.
Law enforcement sources said the incident occurred at 6:30 p.m. on March 5 in the area of Queens Boulevard and 86th Avenue.
According to police, the 18-year-old woman was walking in the area when the unknown suspect approached her from behind and shoved her to the ground. He then stole her cell phone and groped her over her clothing before fleeing the scene on foot.
The victim suffered minor cuts to her knees, authorities said.
Police described the suspect as a white man believed to be 20 years of age, standing 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
