Trade items with your neighbors at this free community swap in Glen Oaks this weekend.
On March 24, the Queens County Farm Museum will serve as the venue of a “Stop ‘n’ Swap” event from noon until 3 p.m.
Attending community members are asked to bring clean, working and portable items they no longer need. Clothing, housewares, electronics, books and toys are among acceptable items.
Unacceptable items to bring include furniture, large or expired items, food, medicine and any non-working electronics. Attendees are encouraged to bring items; however, you do not need to bring something to take something.
Items are only accepted during the event and are available for taking on a first-come, first-served basis. Anything left at the end of the day will be sorted and recycled or donated for re-use as much as possible.
The Queens County Farm Museum is located at 73-50 Little Neck Pkwy.
The event is a collaboration with Grow NYC — an organization that works to reduce waste and promote re-use throughout the city — and is funded by the city Department of Sanitation. Questions about the Stop ‘n’ Swap can be directed to the organization at 212-788-7964 or recycle[@]GrowNYC.org.
