Man Assaulted at Union Turnpike Subway Station, Cops Seek Suspect

Police are searching for a man who allegedly attacked a subway commuter at the Union Turnpike subway station on Saturday.

A 35-year-old man was exiting the Jamaica-bound F train at around 2:25 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown man, police said. The suspect punched the victim in the back of the head with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground.

The alleged perpetrator took off through the mezzanine and disappeared.

The victim did not remember what had happened to him, but complained of back pain. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.

The suspect is described as black and around 30 years old. He was last seen wearing a yellow sweatshirt, black jeans, and black sneakers. He was carrying a black backpack.
