Detectives looking for driver behind a fatal hit-and-run in Ridgewood that killed woman

Cops are looking for the person responsible for a hit-and-run incident that took a senior woman’s life in Ridgewood.

According to police, at 8:14 a.m. on July 1, 63-year-old Draga Krstic, of 69th Avenue in Ridgewood, was attempting to cross the street in front of 59-41 Myrtle Ave. when she was struck by a silver, four-door sedan. The vehicle, which was driving at a high rate of speed, fled the location following the incident.

Officers from the 104th Precinct and EMS units rushed to the scene. Krstic sustained numerous injuries to her torso and was transported to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center initially in stable condition. However, her condition deteriorated in the days that followed, and she ultimately died of her injuries on July 16.

Police released this video of the car at the time of the incident.

The vehicle is described as a silver Nissan Sentra sedan with damage to its driver-side doors and passenger-side rearview mirror.
