Cops are still searching for a thief who stole soap from a South Richmond Hill pharmacy and punched an employee last month.
According to police, at 5:20 p.m. on June 30, an unknown man was inside a Rite Aid, located at 122-02 Liberty Ave., and put 11 bars of soap in his backpack and attempted to leave the store without paying for them.
When the suspect was confronted by a 26-year-old male employee about the theft, authorities said, the bandit threatened to stab the employee and then proceeded to punch the employee in the face. The soap thief then fled the location on foot southbound on 122nd Street.
Officers from the 106th Precinct and EMS responded to the scene; the employee was treated the victim for pain and bruising to the face.
Police described the suspect as a bald, black man in his 30s, standing 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds. He was last seen wearing eyeglasses, a blue shirt, dark colored shorts, dark colored sneakers and carrying a black backpack.
