Several speed bumps are going to be installed on Forest Hills and Rego Park streets.
Community Board 6 voted Thursday to give the Department of Transportation the go ahead to install four speed bumps on Austin Street between Ascan Avenue and Union Turnpike.
The bumps, which have already been approved by DOT and were recommended by Council Member Karen Koslowitz, will go up on Austin Street between Ascan Avenue and 73rd Road; 73rd Road and 75th Avenue; 75th Road and 76th Avenue; and 77th Avenue and 77th Road.
The Community Board also voted to approve the installation of a speed bump on Booth Street between 65th Road and 66th Avenue. This too was recommended by the council member’s office.
Another speed bump will be going up on Kessel Street between 74th and 74th Avenues. The public, via a petition, called on the Community Board and DOT to install one there.
The DOT has yet to say when the speed bumps will be installed. The DOT did not respond for comment prior to publication.
