Queens Zoo — Looking for somewhere fun to spend your day before or after you eat? Enjoy the animals and less of a crowd due to the holiday.

Orphan Thanksgiving — Don’t have anywhere to eat a holiday meal? Come to Orphan Thanksgiving at The Creek and The Cave. Get a full meal complete with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie and more.
When: Thursday, Nov. 22, at 4 p.m.
Where: 10-93 Jackson Ave., Long Island City
Cost: Suggested donation of $20

Turkey Bowl — Keep your Thanksgiving celebration going with the turkey bowl at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. There will be five football games throughout the day: 8- to 11-year-old co-ed at 10 a.m., 8- to 11-year-old girls at 11 a.m., 12- to 14-year-old boys at 12 p.m., 15- to 17-year-old boys at 1 p.m. and adults at 1:45 p.m. Everyone interested in playing should be on the field 15 minutes before their game starts.

Paint Party — Bring your kids to a paint party. Everyone ages 7 and up can learn to paint “Starry Night” at this fun, step-by-step class. Tickets include all needed supplies.

A Christmas Carol — Back by popular demand, the North Country Center for the Arts’ National Touring Company will be performing Charles Dickens’ classic “A Christmas Carol.” Enjoy this Queensborough Performing Arts Center tradition and take in all the splendor, magic and joy of the holiday season! Friends of Ridgewood Library Book Sale — Looking for more books to read? Come to the Friends of Ridgewood Library Book Sale. Proceeds will help the library purchase things such as children’s books and educational programs. The sale will be held in the library garden or inside depending on the weather.

Q.E.D.’s Holiday Craft Bazaar — Spend Small Business Saturday at Q.E.D.’s Holiday Craft Bazaar. Local vendors will be selling their products including ceramics, jewelry, greeting cards and more. Receive a free tote with any purchase while supplies last.

NY Metro Reptile Expo — Come check out thousands of live pet reptiles, amphibians and arachnids on display and for sale at discounted rates at the NY Metro Reptile Expo!

Free Concert — Enjoy a free concert with The Tuesday Morning Music Club of Douglaston. Guest artists including Eric Grossman, Lida Grossman, Hiroko Dutton, Carol Nicodemi and Edmond Nicodemi and club members will play and sing classical music and holiday favorites. Lunch will be served afterward.
