Detectives have identified one of two men wanted in connection with a road rage robbery in Ridgewood earlier this week.
The 104th Precinct posted a photo to its Facebook page on Jan. 10 of the suspect who is wanted in connection with the Jan. 8 incident that occurred at the corner of 60th Place and Bleecker Street. Police did not disclose the perpetrator’s name.
At about 12:20 a.m. on Jan. 8, police sources said the unidentified victim was driving his vehicle through the intersection when the suspect and an unidentified cohort followed him in their vehicle.
Upon reaching the intersection, the victim stopped his car, and the suspects followed suit. Law enforcement sources said the perpetrators then exited their car and confronted the driver.
According to police, the pictured suspect bashed the driver in the head with a metal baton, causing a laceration and swelling. The suspect’s partner then swung a knife at the driver and missed, police said.
Authorities said a perpetrator then smashed the driver’s windshield with his baton, removed the car keys and fled with his partner in an unknown direction.
Officers from the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The injured driver was treated for his injuries.
Cops described both assailants as Hispanic men, one of whom stands 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds, while his partner stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.
Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts can call the 104th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 386-2723. All calls are kept confidential.
