Cops were looking for a man is suspected of robbing a woman near her car in Howard Beach over the weekend.
According to police, at 5:40 a.m. on Dec. 28, a 50-year-old woman was walking to her car, which was parked in the vicinity of 157th Avenue and 79th Street, when she was approached from behind by an unknown man.
Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator proceeded to push the victim into her car, demanding money and threatening bodily harm. The suspect took the victim’s cellphone and personal property before fleeing on foot eastbound on 157th Avenue.
Officers from the 106th Precinct responded to the incident. The woman was not seriously injured.
The suspect was described by police as a black man in his 20s and standing approximately 5 feet, 2 inches tall.
