The owners of seafood restaurant London Lennie’s have put the property on the market and are hoping to hook a developer.

The 10,700 square foot property was listed last week for $6.5 million and is being marketed as a potential development site for medical, retail, residential, community facilities, a hotel or office space.

The site, located at 63-88 Woodhaven Blvd. is within a R5 district with a C1-3 zoning, which allows for mixed-use projects up to a 22,000 square feet, nearly four times the size of the current 5,830 square foot restaurant.

“This redevelopment opportunity provides developers the ability to capitalize on tremendous demand in an area with a scarcity of developable land,” the listing reads.

The property, which is owned by the operators of London Lennie’s, the Barnes family, is being listed by Salvatore Crifasi of Crifasi Real Estate. The owners are also open to accepting offers to lease the property, according to the listing.

The Barnes family opened London Lennie’s in 1959 and it soon became a popular spot in the neighborhood for seafood. The restaurant’s menu offers a wide range of seafood including fresh lobster brought in daily from New England and Canada. The restaurant is still open and is continuing to operate as usual.

The operators of London Lennie’s could not be reached for comment.
