The New York City Council Queens Delegation will rally for a better Queens Bus Network Redesign Plan on the steps of Borough Hall in Kew Gardens Friday.
The Council Members say the current draft plan cuts bus services and fails to incorporate community input.
The plan to overhaul the borough’s bus routes has faced criticism from residents and elected officials alike since the MTA published it on Dec. 31.
Last Thursday, 15 Queens lawmakers penned a letter to the MTA officials asking for a complete redo of the current draft plan, which they said lacks the funds necessary to reach parts of the borough inaccessible by subway.
The current plan is only a draft. A final redesign plan will be released in the second quarter of 2020 after the MTA hears from community members.
The agency is holding several workshops throughout Queens in the coming month to collect feedback from residents.
