Detectives in Queens are looking for the gunman who shot a 24-year-old man to death after getting into a vehicular collision with him on Thursday night.
Police said that Anthony Ali, 24, of 110th Street was behind the wheel of his 2021 blue BMW 430 sedan when he got into a collision with the suspect’s vehicle at the corner of 89th Avenue and 116th Street in Richmond Hill just before 9:55 p.m. on Aug. 12.
Immediately after the crash, law enforcement sources said, the male suspect got out of his car and engaged Ali in a verbal dispute. Within seconds, the words turned violent, as the perpetrator pulled out a firearm and blasted multiple shots into Ali’s vehicle, striking Ali in the head and chest.
Following the shooting, police said, the suspect got back into his vehicle — a 2008-10 black Infiniti with temporary Florida license plates — and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Officers from the 102nd Precinct responded to a 911 call about the collision and shooting. EMS rushed Ali to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
