State Senator Joe Addabbo is partnering with Beacon Eldercare Inc. to bring a wide variety of gadgets helpful in the aging process to the Peter Cardella Senior Center in Ridgewood Wednesday, June 22.
A representative from Beacon Eldercare will be at the senior center, located at 68-52 Fresh Pong Rd. in Ridgewood from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. to give attendees an in-depth look at what affordable gadgets could make their lives easier.
Addabbo, a member of the State Senate Aging Committee, said that he understands that the aging process is difficult, but these items will help.
“My office has partnered with Beacon Eldercare earlier in the year for a virtual presentation on these senior gadgets, and I am happy to be able to bring her in front of a live audience this time around,” Addabbo said. “As we age many aspects of life that we previously took for granted can become more difficult. The items displayed during the presentation are specifically designed to help seniors overcome these obstacles and have proven to be beneficial for the senior population.”
The Beacon Eldercare representative, Yvonne Murphy, has picked affordable gadgets that are helpful for seniors with medical requirements and disabilities. Some items include the Healthy Seniors Squeeze Balls for Hand Therapy and the Healthy Seniors Jar Opener Set.
“I would like to thank Mrs. Murphy and Beacon Eldercare for coming into the community and providing seniors with this important information,” Addabbo said. “If we can help even one senior citizen have a better quality of life through the use of these products, it will be a successful event. My thanks also go to the Peter Cardella Senior Center for allowing us to bring this event to their members.”
