Detectives from the 114th Precinct in Astoria are looking for a Citi Bike-riding gunman who opened fire on a man near the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City on Sunday, July 31.

The shooting occurred at around 9:45 p.m. on July 31 in front of 40-03 10th St. at the Queensbridge North complex, police said. Two men riding Citi Bikes pulled up alongside a man on the sidewalk and one of the cyclists pulled out a handgun and blasted the victim multiple times hitting him in his face, left arm, and right leg, police said.

The two cyclists rode off eastbound on 41st Avenue.

EMS responded to the crime scene and rushed the victim to Cornell Hospital in critical condition, according to the authorities.

The NYPD released a photo of the suspect Wednesday, Aug. 3, that shows him coming through a turnstile at an MTA subway station nearby. He is described as a Black man with short hair who was last seen wearing a black facemask, white T-shirt and black sweatpants.
