The Bayside Historical Society will be putting on a celebration Dec. 11 to mark the holiday season.

The Holiday at the Castle celebration, scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 208 Totten Ave., will feature several family-friendly events, including seasonal crafts for kids, refreshments, storytelling, sing-a-longs and a special visit from Santa Claus.

One of the stories that will be told is “The Night Before Christmas,” and the sing-a-longs will consist of a variety of Christmas carols.

While the Bayside Historical Society has been putting on holiday celebrations on an annual basis, they have recently made the event more fun for the whole family by expanding the crafts and giving the entire family a chance to sit down and enjoy the historical and Christmas stories being told.

Fort Totten Officers’ Club will be transformed into a winter wonderland for this special event. Santa will also be joined by his helpers, who will have some special surprises in store for the event.

The Bayside Historical Society recommends making reservations for the event by purchasing tickets ahead of time. Individual tickets are $10. There are also multiple family packages available. Families of up to five can get tickets for a total of $35, while families of six to ten can purchase tickets for $45.
