Maspeth residents welcomed the area’s newest restaurant, MuuMoo Foods, which held its grand opening on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 60-54 Fresh Pond Road.
The new Polish-owned eatery aims to give residents another option for great-tasting food.
“We want to make food for everybody,” said Rafael Wawrzyaik, the owner of MuuMoo foods.
Customers can purchase many different food options at MuuMoo Foods, ranging from items on their street food menu such as coffee and burgers, to regular grocery items such as milk and cheese.
“We created something different here,” Wawrzyaik said. “I mean, it is like a fusion of a few different places. It’s not only a fast food business, it’s not only a restaurant per se, it’s not only a grocery store, I call it a fusion.”
Wawrzyaik noted that everything on the store’s menus is in English and Polish to cater to residents fluent in either language in the heavily Polish neighborhood.
“I mean, we put everything in Polish and English since this neighborhood, there’s a lot of Polish people living here,” Wawrzyaik said “I mean, a lot of our natives, they can’t speak English, so we realized that we just wanted no confusion about the food we actually sell.”
He also noted that MuuMoo Foods is working with chefs overseas in developing the best recipes.
“We just want to create stuff that you didn’t taste anywhere else,” Wawrzyaik said. “We have actual chefs who are helping us from overseas, and they are on camera with us working and trying to develop the best recipes for the items that we will be selling.”
Residents can get a taste of what Muu Moo Foods has to offer anytime Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
