Police at the 106th Precinct in Ozone Park are on the lookout for an armed robber who targeted two fast food joints in southeast Queens.
On the night of Wednesday, April 12, the gunman entered a Dunkin’ located at 94-05 Rockaway Blvd. just before 1 a.m. and allegedly pulled out a black handgun while demanding cash from the register. The cashier complied, handing over approximately $300, police said. The perpetrator fled on foot westbound on Rockaway Boulevard and there were no injuries resulting from the hold-up.
Investigators believe it is the same man who entered a Popeye’s restaurant at 94-00 Liberty Ave. on the night of Sunday, Feb. 25, at around 9 p.m., pulled out a black handgun and demanded money from the cashier who hesitated. The suspect jumped over the counter and removed nearly $900 in cash from the register. He ran off eastbound on Liberty Avenue away from Cross Bay Boulevard, police said. There were no injuries reported as a result of the robbery.
Police say the suspect is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall and was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black facemask, white sneakers and black sweatpants with white stripes.
