Suspect sought for pulling a knife on a man in Ridgewood, robbing him in broad daylight: NYPD

A man was robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight in Ridgewood on Monday, May 22, by a perpetrator who made his getaway on a Citi Bike, according to the NYPD.

Police say the 47-year-old victim was in the vestibule of a residential building in the vicinity of Woodward Avenue and Dekalb Avenue across from the Linden Hill United Methodist Cemetery — within the confines of the 104th Precinct in Ridgewood — at around 3:16 p.m. when he was approached by the suspect who had followed him into the building.

Authorities say the unidentified man brandished a knife and demanded money from the victim, who complied, handing over $380 in cash. The assailant rode away on a Citi Bike southbound on Dekalb Avenue.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect on May 23.

He is believed to be 5 feet, 10 inches tall and approximately 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, light colored jeans and gray sneakers.
