Police from the 104th Precinct are searching for the eight thieves behind the attack on a 27-year-old woman who had attempted to stop them from robbing her workplace on Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood, according to authorities.
The incident took place at the EZ Cosmetics Corporation — located at 54-24 Myrtle Ave. — at approximately 5:47 p.m. on Sunday, June 18.
The gaggle of thieves took approximately $42 worth of merchandise without any intent to pay, police said. When the employee confronted the thieves in an attempt to retrieve the stolen goods, the offenders pulled her outside and began punching her multiple times, according to authorities.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition. The thieves fled the scene on foot and headed eastbound on Myrtle Avenue, police said.
