St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children held its summer talent show Wednesday where several kids from the Bayside children’s hospital showed off their gifts.
The talent show consisted of nine acts, with inpatient and outpatient kids taking part along with staff at St. Mary’s. Each act spanned a variety of programs offered by the hospital. This included inpatient services, long-term care and outpatient services.
In addition to some participants showing off their skills, some of these acts also included singing, dancing and theater. In addition to assisting some of the kids with their talent performances, there were some St. Mary’s staff members who put on performances of their own.
St. Mary’s is the only center for pediatric long-term and rehabilitative care in New York City, providing a continuum of care to medically complex children through their in-patient hospital facility in Bayside as well as home care services and community programs.
Since the 1870s, St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children has been the primary provider of long-term and rehabilitative care for New York’s most critically ill and injured children. It is one of only a handful of organizations in the United States dedicated to providing intensive rehabilitation, specialized care and education to children with special needs and life-limiting conditions.
