Police from the 111th Precinct in Bayside are on the lookout for the crook who broke into an Oakland Gardens home in broad daylight and made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry and other property last month.
The crook allegedly forcibly opened a rear window of a home on Richland Avenue, just west of Bell Boulevard and a block south of Vanderbilt Parkway, at around 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.
While inside, the perpetrator removed jewelry and U.S. bonds valued at approximately $350,000, according to an NYPD spokesman. The crook fled the location in an unknown direction and there were no injuries reported during the burglary.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Nov. 6. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with “Millonarios FC” in white lettering across the chest, which suggests the suspect may be a fan of a professional soccer club in Bogotá, Colombia.

The 111th Precinct has reported 264 burglaries so far in 2023, 35 more than the 229 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 15.3%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
