Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing are looking for an older-than-usual burglar who broke into a commercial establishment in Murray Hill late last month.

The intruder entered Jeong Yook Korean BBQ at 152-12 Northern Blvd. by accessing the roof just after 5 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 25. Once inside, the crook allegedly took $80 in cash from the register and fled the location on foot through a side door, heading eastbound along Northern Boulevard toward 154th Street.

The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect on Tuesday, showing him rummaging through the reception area and taking the cash from the register. He is described as approximately 60 to 70 years of age with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing eyeglasses, a white facemask, a black knit winter cap, a black jacket over a dark hooded sweatshirt and a pair of green gloves.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, or on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.

Through May 12, the 109th Precinct has reported 148 burglaries in 2024, 84 fewer than the 232 reported at the same point last year, a decline of 36.2%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
