Out of the 100 largest cities in the United States, Queens ranked 95th when it came to the average size of an apartment for $1,500 a month, according to a report by the real estate site RentCafe.

The study’s results concluded that apartments in Queens with a $1,500 monthly rent equate to an average of just 370 square feet of living space. This is less than the normal square footage of a studio apartment in the borough. It is also a significant drop off from the average of 1,359 square feet posted by the top city, Wichita, Kansas.

Based on the report’s data, the average cost of rent for apartments in Queens was $2,948. The average size of Queens apartments was also determined to be 727 square feet.

Despite the low ranking of Queens in this study, it actually has the highest average square footage among New York City boroughs in this study. Brooklyn ranked 99th at 300 square feet and Manhattan last at 228 square feet.

In New York State, the city that offered the most space based on a monthly rent of $1,500 was Rochester, at 960 square feet. Buffalo was second at 881 square feet, followed by Syracuse at 779 square feet and Yonkers at 480 square feet.
