Assemblywoman Nily Rozic welcomed hundreds of community members to Cunningham Park on Sunday, Aug. 25, for her annual Family Fun Day.
Rozic represents New York’s 25th State Assembly district, which includes the neighborhoods of Flushing, Queensboro Hill, Hillcrest, Fresh Meadows, Oakland Gardens, Bayside, and Douglaston.
The event, organized in partnership with Commonpoint Queens, offered a lively day of free activities, including food vendors, inflatables, face painting, and exciting giveaways like admission tickets to popular local attractions such as the NY Hall of Science and Long Island Children’s Museum.
“Family Fun Day is always a special time for our community to come together, celebrate, and enjoy a range of activities,” said Assembly Member Rozic. “A huge thank you to Commonpoint Queens and our volunteers for being such wonderful partners year after year and making this event possible for all our neighbors.”
The event also featured booths providing valuable resources and information from local organizations and city agencies, including Kissena Synergy, myGym Queens, Queens Public Library, and the Queens Chamber of Commerce. These community partners offered families access to a wealth of information, ensuring they left the event with more than just fun memories.
“It was heartwarming to see so many families enjoying themselves and making memories before the school year starts,” Rozic added. “Events like these are what the community is all about – bringing people together for fun and celebration.”
