Police from the 101st Precinct in Far Rockaway are still looking for a gunman who shot and wounded two men in the parking lot of the Beach Channel Shopping Center near Bayswater Park more than three weeks ago.

The shooting incident occurred on the night of Monday, Aug. 12, when an unknown shooter opened fire on a 53-year-old man and a 66-year-old man in front of 32-13 Beach Channel Dr. Police responded to a 911 call of shots fired at the location and found the older man with gunshot wounds to his torso and left leg. The younger man had suffered a graze wound to his left knee, but refused medical attention at the scene.

EMS responded to the crime scene and rushed the 66-year-old victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

An NYPD spokesman said the older man never saw the gunman and only heard the shots fired, while the younger victim saw a slim man across the parking lot when the shots were fired. He could not provide any further description. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
