Queens Community Board 5 — which represents Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale — returns from its summer break with a general board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
The board meeting is scheduled to take place at Christ the King High School cafeteria, located at 68-02 Metropolitan Ave., and begins at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2026 Capital and Expense Budget, followed by a presentation by representatives of the Newtown Creek Group on the cleanup of contamination in the east branch of Newtown Creek.
After the presentation, a public forum will take place, where residents can discuss ongoing community issues and ask the board questions. Elected officials will also provide an update during the night’s forum period.
CB 5 Chair Vincent Arcuri Jr. is scheduled to give his monthly report, which includes a reading of the minutes from July, a listing of businesses seeking liquor licenses and builders who have filed demolition notices.
District Manager Gary Giordano will present his report immediately following the Chair’s report.
The heads of the various board committees will also share their monthly reports. These include the chairs who oversee committees such as the Sanitation Services Committee, the Transportation Services and Public Transit Services Committee and others.
Anyone wishing to speak to the board during the public forum portion of the night is asked to pre-register. Prospective participants are advised to call CB 5 at 718-366-1834 or email qn05@cb.nyc.gov to pre-register.
