An off-duty NYPD School Safety Agent was arrested and booked at the 103rd Precinct in Jamaica late last month after officers responded to a domestic dispute call at her St. Albans home.

Janet Williams, 54, of Elmira Avenue, was taken into custody on the evening of Monday, Sept. 30, and arraigned in Queens Criminal Court two days later on a criminal complaint charging her with menacing, criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the charges, Williams had a confrontation with her daughter inside the home and repeatedly banged on the door of her daughter’s bedroom at around 6:30 p.m. with such force that the door sustained two holes, according to the complaint. Williams entered the bedroom and proceeded to pull out a machete and point it at her daughter in front of the victim’s seven-month-old child. There were no injuries reported, but the victim feared physical injury, according to the complaint.

Police later recovered the machete from the side of a dresser in the bedroom. Williams was suspended without pay, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

Williams was ordered to return to court on Nov. 25.
