Permits have been filed for the construction of a new 9-story residential building at 35-20 149th St. in Flushing.

Located between 35th Avenue and Northern Boulevard, the proposed development would rise to a height of 91 feet and provide 23,102 square feet of residential space spread across 29 units. Each unit will have an average size of 729 square feet, suggesting the apartments will most likely be rentals. In addition to the residential space, the building will feature a cellar, a 30-foot-long rear yard, and seven enclosed parking spaces for future residents to use.

The site’s prime location offers convenient access to public transportation, with the Main Street subway station, serviced by the 7 train and multiple bus routes that run nearby, providing future residents with easy connectivity to other parts of the city.

The development is being spearheaded by Sungmi Son of EKKO Energy Efficiency, with George Jeng of Jeng Architect serving as the architect of record. At this time, demolition permits have not yet been filed for the site, and a completion date for the project has not been announced.
