A man was shot dead on the platform at the 90th Street-Elmhurst Av subway station Sunday afternoon.
Police responded to 911 calls of shots being fired at the 90th Street-Elmhurst Av subway station at around 12:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, they discovered an unidentified man in his 20s unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.
EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. There are no arrests and the identity of the victim has yet to be released.
The New York Times reported that the victim was arguing with two men on board a Manhattan-bound 7 train as it pulled into the 90th Street station. The conductor heard several shots, the Times reported, and then saw the victim lying on the platform.
The station was temporarily closed while the police conducted an investigation.
