The driver behind the wheel of the car that crashed into a bank at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center on Tuesday morning has been charged with DWI, cops said.
The individual, identified by police as a 69-year-old man, lost control of his vehicle and smashed into the bank located at 23-98 Bell Blvd. in Bayside at 11:50 a.m., police said.
When officers from the 109th Precinct approached the vehicle, the driver had a strong odor of alcohol about him, they said.
According to authorities, the driver and two others sustained minor injuries due to the accident and were transported to North Shore-LIJ in Manhasset.
