Here are a few places in Queens where you can cool off with a great-tasting ice cream cone or Italian ice

The sun is heating up and it’s starting to feel like summer. One of the best ways to beat the heat is to head to your nearest ice cream or Italian ice shop to cool down.

Luckily, Queens has tons of places where you can cool off with a sweet treat. Here are a few places in the borough where you can find a great-tasting ice cream cone or ice.

The Lemon Ice King of Corona — 52-02 108th St., Corona

For over 60 years, the Lemon Ice King of Corona has been a staple in frozen Queens treats. With fresh fruit flavors squeezed right into their ices, they have set the standard for Italian ices in the borough, making it a go-to spot to get a nice, cold treat throughout the summer.

Eddie’s Sweet Shop — 105-29 Metropolitan Ave., Forest Hills

Eddie’s Sweet Shop has been satisfying customers with its homemade ice cream since they opened their doors in 1925. They offer an old-school ice cream parlor atmosphere to go with their 20 homemade ice cream flavors, which is sure to make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the summers of the past.

Gelato & Co. — 29-02 23rd Ave., Astoria

With authentic Italian recipes and local ingredients, you’ll surely leave satisfied after grabbing a cold treat from Gelato & Co. Their freshly made gelato comes in a number of delicious flavors that are made onsite every day. They also offer homemade sorbet for those who are looking for a dairy-free, vegan option.

Creme & Sugar brings a piece (or scoop) of Peru right into Ridgewood. Their fruit-flavored ice cream (and wine-flavor ice cream for those 21 and older) are available by the scoop, in a quart or in a milkshake. They also have a menu of classic Peruvian treats to choose from.

Twist It Top It — 158-18A Cross Bay Blvd., Howard Beach; 103-09 Metropolitan Ave., Forest Hills, 66-02 Fresh Pond Rd., Ridgewood

After already serving customers in Howard Beach and Forest Hills, this self-serve frozen yogurt shop just opened up its third location in Ridgewood. Twist It Top It offers a variety of flavors and tons of toppings that will have you coming back to try different flavor combinations.

10 Below Ice Cream — 136-17 39th Ave., Flushing

10 Below Ice Cream is the first of its kind in New York City. Their Thai-rolled ice cream creations are made right before the customers’ eyes, which is an experience that you do not want to miss.

Snowdays — 72-24 Austin St., Forest Hills
