Detectives need the public’s help in tracking down a burglar who stole packages from a Bayside apartment building’s lobby earlier this year.

The NYPD released on June 20 images of the perpetrator behind the April 6 break-in, which occurred in the vicinity of Corporal Stone Street and 39th Avenue.

At 4 p.m. that day, according to law enforcement sources, the burglar used an unidentified tool to force his way into the lobby. He then grabbed a number of packages located inside the lobby, then fled in an unknown direction.

The thefts were later reported to the 111th Precinct.

Cops described the suspect as a white man between 35 and 40 years of age with a dark colored beard, who was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, a dark ski cap, blue jeans and construction boots. Police also determined that he had construction gloves hanging out of a rear pocket.

Anyone with information regarding the burglar’s whereabouts can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA), visit the Crime Stoppers website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
