Police are looking for a burglar that broke into a Bayside cafe and stole thousands of dollars in cash.

According to police, at 4 a.m. on Nov. 23, an unknown man broke into the Oasis Cafe, located at 196-30 Northern Blvd., through the basement door. Once inside, the suspect took $300 from the cash register.

The crook proceeded to kick in the office door and then took $10,000 from the safe. The suspect then fled the scene through a rear door.

This is not the first time in recent history that the Oasis Cafe fell victim to burglars. In August 2016, police arrested a man who reportedly broke into the establishment through an open rear door and stole $26,000 in cash and $4,000 in checks from an unsecured safe.

Anyone with information in regard to the Nov. 23 burglary is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
