Cathay Bank reaffirmed its commitment to local nonprofits this year.

A total $540,000 in grants were awarded with $445,000 earmarked for nonprofits in New York and New Jersey, including several Queens organizations.

Cathay Bank CEO and President Pin Tai hosted a grant presentation luncheon at The Golden Unicorn Restaurant in Chinatown for the awardees.

During the luncheon, Tai thanked the attendees and their organizations for their dedicated work and also discussed how Cathay Bank can further help the organizations make a difference and strengthen their communities.

“At Cathay Bank, we believe our growth should go hand-in-hand with the community’s prosperity,” Tai said. “This is how we live our bank purpose: opening doors to opportunity to help customers, employees and communities thrive. We support these worthy organizations, which have worked tirelessly to address the well-being of people in need and help them live their best lives.”
