The overheated criticism of Flushing Meadows Corona Park and Assistant Parks Commissioner Estelle Cooper reminds of those immortal words of Yogi Berra, “No one goes there anymore, the place is too crowded.”

Flushing Meadows is crowded. We doubt that there is any park in New York City that gets more use. Each weekend there are dozens of soccer games utilizing every available inch of this park. From early spring until the first snow of winter, thousands of Queens residents from every corner of the globe converge on this park to play what is undeniably the world's favorite sport.
