Michael Behlin, whose address was not known, was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital at around 9:20 p.m. last Thursday after being shot outside 109-17 Springfield Blvd. around 8:40 p.m., police said. Behlin lingered in the hospital for several days before dying Sunday, said hospital spokeswoman Juliet Lewis.
Shortly after the shooting the 14-year-old, who lives nearby on 104th Avenue and is a freshman at Hillcrest High School, was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, said Carmen Melendez, a police spokeswoman.
