Participate in the holiday harvest food drive 2001. “Kids Feeding Kids.” Please donate canned and other non-perishables. Boy Scout Troop 18 of St. Fidelis expresses its thanks for the wonderful support of their recent bake sale. The Boy Scouts of Troop 18 of St. Fidelis will hold their annual Christmas Wreath Sale on Saturday, Dec, 1 and 2, outside church after all the masses. Wreaths will be $12 each.
St. Fidelis School is selling religious Christmas cards for $5 per box during school hours.
Halloween is always a delight for the children and for me. I was dressed in my witch outfit and, of course, I said to them, “Trick or treat!” They wanted to give me a piece of candy from their bag and I asked them how I looked and they said, “Good,” so I gave them their treat.
I was happy to see parents with the children. All the College Point businesses on the boulevard were good to the children.
My husband went to Point Value Store and was handed a bag of candy with this poem: “A chocolate Kiss to remind you that you are loved, A match to light your fire when you feel burned out, A Tootsie Roll to remind you not to bite off more than you can chew, Smarties to help you on days that you don’t feel so smart; A Starburst to give you a burst of energy on those days when you don’t have any, Snickers to remind you to take time to laugh, A bag to help you keep it all together and most importantly, A candle to remind you that you can brighten someone else’s day!” Cindy Johnson gave us this poem.
St. Fidelis Tornados’ Cross Country Season, Boys Novice Team took first place and received the gold. Congratulations to James Stout, Licm Baker, Alan Mook, Robert Scagnelli and Coach John Kramer.
Double best wishes to Mary Veseley as she celebrated her birthday and. her 39th year as a volunteer with the College Point Ambulance Corp.

A holiday concert featuring St. Fidelis Children’s Choir, Kay, Cantor, Ivan, organist. Other professional singers will perform on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. in church. Tickets are $10 general and $5 seniors and children.

There have been many sad events and only prayer can bring solemnity. We must put our love and thoughts to our next big family holiday, Thanksgiving. Be thankful for your family and make sure you tell them how important they are to you and how much you love them.
