Montchal later moved to St. James, where he coached baseball and basketball. Since 1995, Montchal has been involved as a volunteer for the Long Island Baymen Baseball Club and is also their current president.

The celebration will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lake Ronkonkoma Park on Smithtown Boulevard, Ronkonkoma. Family, friends and former players from Montchal’s teams are invited to attend. Montchal’s family believes this is a great way to recognize and thank him for his years of service and for friends and former teammates to reunite.
