Washington Mutual Cards beat Mason Marlins
With the lead changing back and forth, the Washington Mutual Cards held on to beat the Mason Marlins Saturday.
Michael Rosario pitched three solid innings and put the Cards on the board early with his first of two home runs.
After being down by one run, Matthew Schwartz had a two-out triple down the line to take the lead, but it didn’t last as the Marlins came right back when Dennis Frame hit a home run. Jordan Mittenthal pitched well the last three innings and hit a grand slam as the Cards went on to win 12-9.
Also contributing with their bats were James Cazzorla, James Ortega, Corey Mittenthal and Ben Park, while defensively Wesley DeSimone had five strong innings behind the plate.
The Marlins’ James Narlis, Dennis Frame and Anthony Bradica pitched well and were helped with the plays at shortstop by Ethan Geffen. Offensively, Evan Zimmern and Dennis Frame had a multiple hit day in this well-played game.
