While St. John's Prep may be on the way down in a rebuilding year, Monsignor McClancy, off a solid 17-9 campaign, returns perhaps the ‘A' division's top player in senior Stephen “Sticks” Wood.
Wood (894 career points), who could become the school's all-time leading scorer surpassing Dennis McIntyre later this season, is clearly the team's best player, joined in the backcourt by speedy senior guards Evans Pyrrhon and Perry Opong.
Up front, the Crusaders added size in 6-foot-7 center Nyika Williams, a native of the Virgin Islands. Williams, an athletic big man, along with 6-foot-5 forwards Jonathan Fanelli, Kirk Fernandez, and 6-foot-4 forward John Keegan, should provide an intimidating inside presence for McClancy.
