Traffic Cop Posted In Astoria During Construction

With the help of Councilman Peter Vallone, Jr., a traffic cop has been added to the intersection of 31st St. and Hoyt Ave., while painting of the elevated train station occurs through December.
Vallone said that the MTA was very quick to respond to his request that a police officer be placed at the intersection, and the patrolman will direct traffic from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on weekdays.
Vallone said that he had received several complaints about traffic at the intersection since the painting had begun and that the police officer has since alleviated traffic problems at the spot.
