Bank reaches out to Bayside school

Continuing their efforts to promote financial education in youngsters, employees from the State Bank of Long Island recently taught fiscal education classes to first, second, and third graders at P.S. 130 in Bayside.
“While today’s children utilize advanced technology at home and school for mathematics and other subjects, many don’t know the basics of savings and money management,” Deborah Kendric, Director of Corporate Communications at State Bank of Long Island, said. “Studies show that people who learn to save early in life usually make smarter financial decisions later. We conduct this program to start children off on the right path to saving for their future.”
Employees at State Bank of Long Island taught two classes at P.S. 130 about money and savings, through the use of discussions and other similar activities. State Bank of Long Island is the largest independent commercial bank headquartered in Nassau County.
