The Mom’s Club of Forest Hills, a nonprofit organization for stay-at-home moms dedicated to enriching the lives of families, children and humanitarian issues, was honored with a visit from a trio of women known as “The Mom Squad.”
The Mom Squad paid homage to special “Deserving New Yorkers” for their tireless (and often thankless) contributions to family and the community, by providing a little “TLC from KFC.” They delivered delicious bowls courtesy of KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken), and the Mom’s Club was their first stop.
“We were totally surprised to see this group of ‘elderly women’ taking it upon themselves to actually feed us after our meeting. And our children, who attend the meetings with us were ecstatic to see the bowls of fresh food being brought in by The Mom Squad,” said Jennifer Kamperman, president and founder of the Mom’s Club branch of Forest Hills.
The Mom’s Club of Forest Hills is an active branch of the international nonprofit organization of stay-at-home moms who devote their time to family, community and family charity issues. There are more than 2,000 chapters and 100,000 members across the U.S. The Mom’s Club meets regularly to engage in activities to enhance the lives of all children in the community, as well as provide a forum for topics pertinent to children such as child-raising, homemaking, personal improvement and family. In Forest Hills, the Mom Squad has been active in numerous charitable endeavors as well such as the Save the Children Hurricane Katrina Fund for Children and numerous community efforts.
As part of a city-wide effort to honor deserving New Yorkers, KFC has created “the Mom Squad” as a vehicle for delivering its scrumptious new KFC “Famous Bowl” meals — and paying tribute — to organizations which make tireless contributions to family and community on a consistent basis.
