Gennaro helps re-open library

The Queens Library at Briarwood, 85-12 Main Street, recently reopened following renovations and readers from the surrounding communities are now able to take advantage of the new improvements.
Readers can now take advantage of fast, self-service checkouts, computers in the young adult section and a new customer information center.
In addition, the library increased its collection of books, music, videos and installed new laptop workstations for customers.
&#8220A great library is essential for every community,” said Councilmember James Gennaro. &#8220I am proud to help ensure that the Briarwood Library has the tools it needs to be a great library and serve our community well into the 21st century.”
The library was closed for approximately 14 weeks in order to complete the modernization.
