Kiwanis and M.S. 74 adopt school in Zimbabwe

The members of the Kiwanis builders club in conjunction with Middle School 74 have adopted a school in Zimbabwe and are calling for donations to be sent to students in Africa.
The school is Swazi Primary, and the club is collecting art and craft supplies, books, new or used sneakers under size 8, and all school supplies.
&#8220Ten dollars buys a child in Kenya a year at school,” Linda Skliros, past President of the Bayside Kiwanis and adviser to the builders and key club, said.
The builders club is a service organization, and with the support of Middle School 74's principal, Andrea Dapolito, and the school's faculty, is involved a number of other community projects.
To raise money for the school in Zimbabwe the children are selling a cookbook compiled from recipes supplied by staff and faculty of M.S. 74 and the children's families. They are also selling green wrist bands for $1.
There are two drop off points for donations to Swazi Primary: Century 21 Benjamin, 40-04 Bell Blvd, Bayside, and Sovereign Bank at Bay Terrace.
Donations must be received by December 15.
